Coming soon: Exeter’s very own Gin School

We're excited to be launching a brand-new Exeter Gin and Granny Garbutt Gin School and Bar above our distillery in Teignmouth. The three-part experience will allow guests to take a tour of the distillery, make their own gin in the Gin School and sample cocktails in the bespoke Gin Bar.

During the Gin Tour, guests will see the gin making process first-hand. The tour will reveal how Exeter Gin and Granny Garbutt’s five, small-batch gins are distilled in copper stills, and will give guests a behind-the-scenes insight into some of Exeter’s favourite gins – from Granny Garbutt’s rhubarb Distilled Gin ‘Grandad’s Allotment’ to Exeter Gin’s Navy-Strength London Dry, ‘Ivaar the Boneless’.

Guests will then be able to put their new knowledge to the test by making their very own batch of gin in the Gin School. By selecting the botanicals, labelling and distilling the gin personally in miniature replicas of the copper stills downstairs, guests will take home a gin of their own creation to enjoy and savour the fruits of their labour.

What better way to finish the experience than with a cocktail in the Gin Bar? Guests can sample bespoke cocktails tailored to compliment Exeter Gin and Granny Garbutt, including an exciting new cocktail for sharing: served in a glass teapot that combines flavoured, cold-press teabags with gin, it is especially designed to harness the communal spirit of gin drinking.

We cannot wait to welcome fellow gin-lovers through the doors of our Gin School and Bar, so keep your eyes peeled as we are set to open as soon as Covid-19 allows!
